James A. Roy (Retired)

James A. Roy retired December 31, 2018.

Mr. Roy was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1942. Mr. Roy practiced law in Chesapeake for over 40 years and represented numerous clients including the Chesapeake Public Schools, Cenit Bank, the Highway Department of the Commonwealth of Virginia in condemnation matters, Chesapeake Bank & Trust (currently Wachovia), Pioneer Title Insurance Company, and numerous local corporations.

Mr. Roy served as a Commissioner of Accounts for the City of Chesapeake and was Secretary of the conference of Commissioners of Accounts, serving on it’s Executive Board. Mr. Roy resides in Chesapeake, is married and has two children and three grandchildren.
